Mary Mason 1745 to 1820 (Seventh Generation)
Mary Mason married her uncle, her mother’s brother, John Kendall. At the time of their marriage, Mary was 37 years of age and John was 63. It was Mary’s first marriage and John’s second marriage. They were 26 years apart in age.
Mary’s father, John Mason, died in about 1768 when Mary was 23 years of age and her mother, Eleanor Kendall Mason, was 45. It seems likely that Mary postponed marriage to care for (be a companion to) her mother. Eleanor Mason died in about 1780, and Mary married John Kendall shortly thereafter, in 1782.
